Vaccines Are A Vital Component Of The World s Heath

Today, vaccines are a vital component of the world’s heath as they can prevent many diseases. Some parents, though, are against having their children vaccinated because the parents are not educated about vaccines or because they are scared of the risks of vaccines. But what parents do not realize is that vaccines have so many benefits that are crucial to their children’s health. Vaccines are very important and should be mandatory for children because they prevent diseases, protect the â€Å"herd,† and eradicate diseases. Parents chose not to vaccinate their children because of the many risks that vaccinations entail, such as, seizures, paralysis, and death. Some of these risks and side effects are caused by injecting questionable vaccine ingredients that some children s immune systems cannot handle. However the benefits of being vaccinated are much greater than the questionable risks. Vaccines prevent children from contracting life threatening diseases like Diphtheria, Measles, Smallpox, and infamously Polio. But because of this great outcome, many do not know the severity of these preventable diseases due to the enormous favorable outcome of immunizations, and therefore their children are not vaccinated. This is a very big threat to their children’s health because vaccines play a big role in preventing diseases. But all of these life threatening diseases are not forgotten by their victims, especially polio. Was the Boston Massacre really a massacre free essay sample

I believe that the Boston Massacre was not a massacre. I think this because there was a lot of propaganda, and the low death toll. The definition of a massacre is an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of people. The Boston Massacre consisted of 8 deaths. When everyone was yelling things, it confused the soldiers of what they should do. The number of deaths didn’t even make it to ten deaths. The number of deaths established that it couldn’t have been an actual massacre. Propaganda is when the actual events were altered and taken out of context to make the reader believe a specific message. In the anonymous account written by the colonies it states, â€Å"†¦that there was not the least provocation given to Capt. Preston of his party†¦Ã¢â‚¬  Considering that this document was written to the colonies, it was created to send rebellious thoughts through the colonists. The picture Paul Revere drew was mostly propaganda. The Boston Massacre was not as vicious as they said it was. As stated in the British document, Capt. Preston stated, â€Å"I immediately sent a non-commissioned officer and 12 men to protect both the sentry and the kings money, and very soon followed myself to prevent, if possible, all disorder, fearing lest the officer and soldiers, by the insults and provocations of the rioters, should be thrown off their guard and commit some rash act.† When Capt. Preston stated this, it shows that they didn’t want to hurt or do anything to the colonists. They were just going down there to protect the sentry and the king’s money. If this was really a massacre, the soldier’s motive would have been to kill as many people that they could. The soldiers never meant to kill or injure any colonists. In closure, the Boston Massacre was never a massacre. There was no harsh or enormous amount of deaths during the shooting. Capt. Preston’s encounter of the Boston Massacre is more reasonable. His document helped me understand more about the Boston Massacre and it helped me realize that the colonists over-exaggerated. Capt. Preston wrote a formal document explaining what happened on March, 5th, 1770, and justifying that the Boston Massacre was not a massacre.
